Recipes are frequently treasured through generations. Lovingly handwritten in time speckled note books, or in many instances, made entirely from memory. Country cooks are legendary…..and well versed at coping with the unexpected!

Please feel free to include information about any of your family favorites, and especially the stories that surround them. The Christmas cakes, the trifles, the pies and pasties, jams and preserves, casseroles ,rissoles, salads and smoko scones. They are all part of our unique social history.

And lets not forget the formulas for floor polish and horse liniments and home brew !

It is our hope that we will eventually have sufficient material to collate these stories into book form. Full acknowledgement will be given for all contributions.
