PEARSON “Lake View” Brinkley, South Australia | 1910

By In Awardees On April 24, 2026

Almost from the outset as of the owners of Lake View, the Pearson family gained a reputation for hard work, openhearted generosity and community spirit. In true mixed farming tradition they turned their hands to whatever they felt would yield an income from their modest acreage. Milk , cream, butter and calves to sell from their dairying efforts, eggs and poultry, vegetables, grain crops, mallee roots, hides, Suffolk sheep and magnificent Clydesdales that routinely clopped off with the blue ribbons at the local agricultural shows. Over the generations partnerships came and went, and more land has been purchased bringing the farm to 2900 acres. For the vast majority of Lake View’s history there have been three generations living on the farm. First  there was  William, his son Ern and grandson Les, then Les’ son Murray and grandson Dean. Murray, Dean and granddaughter Alexis followed. Today there are still three generations living on the farm with Dean, his daughter Alexis and his granddaughter Charlotte. Over the 115-year history there have been 7 generations and around 38 family members calling Lake View home.
